Concerning A Burned Cobalt Vehicle ...
GM Uzbekistan informs the public and consumers that the information circulated in some media regarding the burned-out Cobalt car owned by Mr. Ismailova M. is hasty.
In fact, as it was established by the specialists of General Motors Uzbekistan JSC, according to the results of studying the scene of the accident and the car itself, many factors, but not constructive malfunctions of the car, could have caused the car to ignite.
If we talk about the very essence of the problem, there was a hole in the back of a burned-out car with a bend of metal inward, which indicates that a tire explosion occurred on the right wheel of the car, a possible cause of tire fire is its proximity to the primary source of ignition. And the bushes located near the right wheel were badly burned in the lower part, and not in the upper one, as they say “from under the hood”.
All this suggests that there was an external impact, which was the cause of the car’s fire.
Moreover, according to independent experts, there are no signs of a short circuit in the electrical wires.
Despite the absence of facts confirming the causes of the car’s fire due to a technical malfunction, the court of first instance, satisfying the plaintiff’s claims, made a decision on compensation for material damage.
In turn, some media outlets, referring to the decision of the trial court that did not enter into legal force, and also based on the arguments of the car owner, hastily published information that was untrue.
