Due to the news report about the detention of the employee of Sirdaryoavtotekhkhizmat LLC Abdumurod Hakberdiev, who was involved in fraud in the sale of automobiles of GM Uzbekistan by using registered certificates issued to veterans of the Second World War, we report the following.
GM Uzbekistan JSC categorically condemns any manifestations of corruption and declares its irreconcilable position in relation to any official or organization related to the activities of our enterprise and seeking to illegally enrich itself in the process of selling cars.
We have taken a number of measures to prevent manifestations of corruption, including measures of an institutional nature (a new trading system, the introduction of electronic registration of applications for a contract, transparency in the distribution of cars, etc.), as well as organizational issues, including a wide explanatory work among all GM Uzbekistan employees and dealerships.
Each employee of our company and all dealer organizations have undertaken written obligations to prevent any manifestations of corruption and fraud for the purpose of illegal enrichment.
The corresponding obligations are included in individual dealer agreements with organizations involved in the sale of automobiles.
These provisions provide for various measures of liability in case of revealing any facts of using illegal enrichment methods, including termination of all contractual obligations.
In this particular case, we consider it necessary to emphasize that Abdumurod Hakberdiev, like all employees of dealership organizations, in January 2017 signed and accepted in writing a commitment to comply with all legal norms in the field of anti-corruption. Despite this, this person, apparently, did not fully realize the seriousness of the consequences of his illegal actions and the principle of the inevitability of punishment for criminal acts.
At the same time, we emphasize that the actions of one particular person are a special case and in no way should be extrapolated to the entire system of selling automobiles of GM Uzbekistan JSC. The most important priority for our company is the implementation of all aspects of our activities strictly within the law, any deviations from this will be strictly suppressed.
In this regard, GM Uzbekistan JSC is ready to provide all possible support to law enforcement and judicial authorities in conducting a full investigation of all the circumstances of this incident.
At the same time, we recall that in case of any facts of illegal actions on the part of employees of GM Uzbekistan JSC and dealerships during the sale of cars, attempts to extort additional illegal monetary rewards for certain actions, we ask you to immediately inform us by the telephone number 147-14-14 or contact to law enforcement.
